Easy to Use

The TRI AUTO ZX is a low speed endodontic handpiece with built in apex locator. It is the only apex measuring endodonic handpiece on the market today. Mechanical root canal enlargement and the removal of gutta percha points can be performed safely and efficiently.

TRI AUTO ZX offers the optimum in fine sensitive functions. The Auto Apical Reverse and Auto Torque Reverse mechanism make this revolutionary handpiece safer than any other endodontic handpiece. It helps prevent destroying the natural configuration of the root canal and of nickel titanium files. Combined with the technology of the ROOT ZX apex locator, TRI AUTO ZX gives the clinician the ability and convenience to electronically monitor the canal before, during and after instrumentation. The cordless handpiece allows maximum flexibility when reaching posterior teeth.

Measuring Function

The TRI AUTO ZX can also be used simply for electrically measuring the length of the root canal. Accurate measurement is determined in calculating the canal impedance by the ratio of 2 different frequencies (400Hz and 8kHz). The accuracy of the measurement in either a dry or wet canal (canals filled with electrolytes such as sodium hypochlorites, hypochlorite, saline, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), blood, or tap water) is equally accurate.

Auto Start/Stop

The motor automatically starts and stops once the file is inserted and taken out of the root canal. There is no need to reset for each individual canal, or when the unit is switched on.

Auto Torque Reverse

The motor stops and goes into reverse if the threshold of torque applied to the file is exceeded. The torque threshold of the auto-torque reverse mechanism can be set at different levels. The LED display lights up and the acoustic signal starts when this function is triggered. This prevents locking of the file in the root canal.

No Zero-adjustment

It is not necessary to set the device on zero before measuring each individual canal. The microprocessor calibrates TRI AUTO ZX automatically, making it ready to use immediately after turning on the main switch. No set up is required. No resetting is required for multiple measurements. Automatic calibration insures acuracy and eliminates the effects of changes in temperature, moisture, etc. inside the canal even during measurement.

Auto Apical Reverse

When the tip of the file reaches the point of the canal depth, preset by the dentist and indicated by the handpiece display, the rotation is reversed. The LED display and the acoustic signal indicate this function.

Display and Audible Alarms

Accurate measurement and monitoring of the file tip's position, which is indicated by both the LED display on the handpiece and by an acustic signal.

Power Management

The elimination of the cord guarantees for greater flexibility and mobility. The rechargable batterie provides the handpiece enough power for up to 15 root canals. Completely charge needs approx. 1 hour in the comfortable desk charger. To conserve power the TRI AUTO ZX will automatically shut off after three minutes if the handpiece is not in use. Low battery power is indicated by LED in the handpiece display.

Reliable Infection Control

The contra angle is autoclavable as well as contra electrode and file clip. To prevent the handpiece from contamination hygiene covers are available.

Nickel Titanium Files

The extraordinary flexibility of nickel titanium files allow them to effectively enlarge canals which are too curved for ordinary stainless steel files.
